A meeting regarding the GreenMetric World University Rankings and QS Rankings was held under the chairmanship of Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Abdul Malik Tareen at Lasbela University of Agriculture, Water and Marine Sciences (LUAWMS).
The meeting was attended by Pro Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Illahi Bakhsh Marghazani, Registrar Dr. Balach Rasheed, Deans of all faculties, Directors, Heads of Departments, and administrative officers.
Addressing the meeting, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Abdul Malik Tareen emphasized that international rankings are important indicators of institutional quality and provide valuable opportunities for benchmarking against leading universities worldwide. He noted that strong performance in global rankings enhances the University's academic reputation, visibility, and competitiveness at the international level.
Special focus was placed on the GreenMetric criteria, including sustainable infrastructure, energy and climate change initiatives, waste management, water conservation, transportation policies, and environmental education programs. Participants explored measures to strengthen these areas in line with international sustainability standards and best practices.
The Vice Chancellor stressed the importance of collective efforts and institutional commitment to improve performance indicators and achieve the University's long-term strategic goals. He encouraged all academic and administrative units to work collaboratively toward promoting excellence, innovation, and sustainability across LUAWMS.
