INTRODUCTION

The Department of Animal Nutrition was established through Notification No. 0135/Notif/REG-ACAD/LUAWMS/1190-200/ dated November 13, 2020 in the faculty of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, LUAWMS. Later, on March 09, 2021, Prof. Dr. Illahi Bakhsh Marghazani was notified as first Chairman of the Department via Letter No.0135/Notif/REG- ACAD /LUAWMS /351-381. In addition to him, Prof. Dr. Bahram Chacher is other PhD Faculty member of the department. On February 25, 2022, Higher Education Commission via Letter No. 1-40/2022/QAD-NOC/HEC/LUAWMS/210 issued No Objection Certificate for initiation of M.Phil degree program. The aims and objectives of the department and scope of the post graduate degree program of Animal Nutrition are precisely described below.

AIMS AND OBJECTIVES

  1. To produce professionally and ethically sound, learned translational researchers in the field of animal nutrition.
  2. To explore and nutritionally evaluate conventional and non-conventional feed resources including rangeland species of Balochistan.
  3. To explore and evaluate potential of native breeds of small, large, and pseudo-ruminants of Balochistan on rangelands plant species and other feed resources.
  4. To facilitate regional and inter-provincial livestock and poultry farmers, entrepreneurs and industrialists in feed evaluation and feed formulation.
