A joint working committee was formed to implement the agreed measures under the Memorandum of Understanding between Lasbela University of Agriculture, Water and Marine Sciences and the Department of Livestock and Dairy Development. Accordingly, a meeting of the joint working group was held under the chairmanship of Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Abdul Malik Tareen on 21 January 2026.
The meeting was attended by Secretary of the Department of Livestock and Dairy Development Mr. Muhammad Tayyab Lehri, Pro Vice Chancellor Dr. Elahi Bakhsh Marghzani, Registrar Dr. Balach Rasheed, Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary and Animal Sciences Dr. Nasrullah Bangulzai and faculty members. Dr. Nasrullah Bangulzai briefed the members in detail about the relevant faculty.
It was highlighted that livestock plays a vital role in the rural economy of the province, providing livelihood, nutrition and income to more than 70 percent of the population associated with the livestock sector, and has immense socio-economic importance.
Secretary Mr. Muhammad Tayyab Lehri also inspected the surgical laboratory of the Faculty of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, praised the work of the doctors and assured full cooperation. He said that every need of the faculty will be met and the faculty will be strengthened for research and investigation. Animals will also be provided for research purposes.
He further said that more research activities will be started at the Tyaroo Farm of the Livestock Department, and better measures will be taken for breeding and disease diagnosis.
Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Abdul Malik Tareen thanked Secretary Livestock Mr. Muhammad Tayyab Lehri for his full cooperation and visit to the university.
