Lasbela University of Agriculture, Water and Marine Sciences (LUAWMS), Uthal, successfully held its 5th Convocation Ceremony on January 16. Governor of Balochistan and Chancellor LUAWMS, Sheikh Jaffar Khan Mandokhail attended the ceremony as the Chief Guest.
The event was attended by Provincial Minister for Education Raheela Hameed Khan Durrani, Parliamentary Secretary for Tourism & Culture, Mir Zareen Khan Magsi, Secretary Colleges, Higher & Technical Education, Saleh Muhammad Baloch, Pro Vice Chancellor Elahi Bakhsh Marghzani, Registrar Dr. Balach Rashid, Controller of Examinations Dr. Abdul Khaliq Angaria, faculty members, administrative staff, Deputy Commissioner Lasbela, Chairman District Council Lasbela, local dignitaries, graduates and their parents.
More than 400 students were awarded degrees. 46 students from Main Campus, 10 from Dera Murad Jamali Campus, and 4 from Wadh Campus received Gold Medals.
Governor Sheikh Jaffar Khan Mandokhail, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Abdul Malik Tareen, Provincial Minister for Education Raheela Hameed Khan Durrani and Parliamentary Secretary Mir Zareen Khan Magsi addressed the ceremony.
Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Abdul Malik Tareen stated that LUAWMS is a key university of Balochistan, comprising 7 faculties and 44 departments, including DVM, Agriculture, Marine Sciences and other important fields. Highly qualified PhD faculty from different countries are serving the university, and students are provided with maximum facilities.
Provincial Minister for Education Raheela Hameed Khan Durrani congratulated the graduates and said that education is the foundation of national development. The Government of Balochistan is giving special attention to universities, increasing funds and resolving salary issues of employees.
Parliamentary Secretary Mir Zareen Khan Magsi said that LUAWMS is an excellent institution established by the late Jam Mohammad Yousaf as a gift to the people of Lasbela and Balochistan. He urged the youth to continue their hard work and dedication to contribute towards national development and prosperity.
