A distinguished delegation from Balochistan, led by Governor Mr. Jafar Khan Mandokhail, including Prof. Dr. Abdul Malik Tareen, Vice Chancellor of Lasbela University of Agriculture, Water & Marine Sciences (LUAWMS), Vice Chancellors from other public sector universities, and Principal Secretary to the Governor Mr. Hashim Khan Ghilzai, visited St. Petersburg, Russia to strengthen bilateral academic cooperation.
The Honorary Consul General of Pakistan, Mr. Abdul Rauf Rind, warmly received the Balochistan delegation upon their arrival.
During an address to the business community of St. Petersburg, the Governor highlighted deepening cooperation between Pakistan and Russia in education, agriculture, trade, and mineral development. He also announced plans to send hundreds of students from Balochistan to pursue education in Russia, promoting innovation and international exposure.
The visit also included strategic discussions involving LUAWMS’s Incubation Center, ORIC (Office of Research, Innovation & Commercialization), and various academic departments. An MoU is under consideration to formally expand cooperation in academic and research areas between Russian institutions and LUAWMS.
