On January 18, 2025, a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Lasbela University of Agriculture, Water and Marine Sciences (LUAWMS) and the Livestock and Fisheries Department of the Government of Sindh at the prestigious Expo Center in Karachi, during the 3rd edition of the National Sindh Livestock Expo 2025.
The MoU was formally signed by Prof. Dr. Abdul Malik Tareen, Vice Chancellor of LUAWMS, and Dr. Kazim Hussain Jatoi, Secretary of the Livestock and Fisheries Department, Government of Sindh. This significant partnership aims to foster collaboration in research, capacity building, and the exchange of academic and field knowledge in Veterinary and Animal Sciences.
The ultimate goal is to enhance livestock wealth and ensure food security for the region.
The signing ceremony was attended by key dignitaries, including Mr. Muhammad Ali Malkani, Minister of Livestock and Fisheries, Sindh, Dr. Nazir Hussain Kalhoro, Director General of the Sindh Institute of Animal Health, Karachi, Dr. Rafique Ahmed Memon, Director General of Livestock Sindh, Hyderabad, and other distinguished guests such as Prof. Dr. Illahi Bakhsh Margzani, Pro Vice Chancellor of LUAWMS, Prof. Dr. Nasrullah Bangulzai, Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary and Animal Sciences at LUAWMS, and Dr. Javed Meraj, Director of ORIC, LUAWMS.
